Colorforms for Grown-ups?

When I was little,
I always had the latest set
of ColorformsTM.

Whatever was popular at the time ---
Peanuts, Scooby Do,
the Flintstones,
 Raggedy Ann.

But my favorite sets
were those where you were
able to change the
clothes
of the characters.

For sale on Etsy here

Sort of like a 2-dimensional
version of playing Barbie, right?
Compact, easy to transport.
Great on long car trips
or in a doctor's waiting room.

This one for sale on Etsy here

Did you have
any of these sets?

Well anyway,
while pinning fashion items
on Pinterest
I started pinning
outfits that others had
arranged on Polyvore.

Next thing I know,
I am on Polyvore
 creating outfits
(see below)
and wardrobe
 collages like crazy.
Things I would
like to wear (or like to own)
outfits for certain occasions,
etc., etc., etc.
 (The possibilities are ENDLESS)

It is addicting,
just like Pinterest,
believe me.

Not sure what they call
Polyvore addicts...
maybe
Polyvorians, Polyvorists,
Polyvoradores?

All I know is
am quickly
becoming one of them.

It's soooo much fun!
You can build an outfit
and create a look
without spending a
red cent.

And....
it doesn't matter
what size you wear,
or what budget you have --
it's all for fun.
(Just like the Colorform set.)
:)

This collage in the format of a magazine spread.  Of course I have a few PLAID sets!

"Try it ... you'll like it."
(Quoting Mikey's brother on the Life cereal commercial.)
:)

P.S.
Let me know if you are on Polyvore
so I can follow you and your style.
Leave me a comment!

Thanks for stopping by today.
Have a great weekend.

Alison,
Oh yeah, that's what I need, one more time consuming past time on the computer. :-) I registered for polyvore and then thought better of it. I haven't been on the site since. That said, I really like some of the outfits you've pulled together.

Oh Goodness, I must not let my daughter find that site. No, I am going to send the link to her. She is a real clothes horse.
I didn't play with colorforms, too old.
I did play with lots of paperdolls. I loved the movie star paper dolls. Ginger Rogers, Shirley Temple, etc.
Have a great weekend, Ginger

I have no experience with Polyvore, but I think that may change shortly. Thanks, Alison.... Yet another way to while away the hours!

I loved colorforms, but I am already a Pinterest addict. I'm not sure another addiction would be too good.

I've tried to stay away from Polyvore for just these reasons! And yes, I adored Colorforms...loved loved loved them. I had forgotten all about them until this post!
P.S. Seriously, do you wear such high heels as you have in the boards? That is one thing I cannot do any more!
