SwingTime

As you know,
we have been in the market
for a new patio dining set.

Still have not found
a replacement,
but in
the meantime
I did find a
new swing.

We used to have a white wicker
one here in this spot
but it got moved to the side porch
on the other side of the house.

As you can imagine,
the white did not match!

I ordered a new cushion
but it has not come in yet.

The view from the swing. Oops. Looks like the back of that bench
needs to be re-glued and re-connected!

We have been
"swingin'"
all weekend.

What's new in your world?

Linking up with Courtney!

I always enjoy seeing black patio furniture. It just goes with every element.

I love porch swings, Alison, and this suits yours beautifully. Swings and rockers on porches. You can't help but move them while sitting there!

*** SIMPLY STUNNING!!! Looooove the SIMPLE ELEGANCE & GRACE, injected with that bit 'o FUN (the PINK!!!), that you've put together here, and the HOT PINK w/ the bl/wh checks is sooooo "DY-NO-MITE"!!! Consider yourself the MASTER, girlfriend!!!

BTW, one teeeeny weeeeny thought/idea, just for your consideration~~~ you might want to consider "sleeves" to cover the chains on the swing... maybe a smaller black & white check, solid black or something along those lines? (BLACK rope MIGHT be uber cool, buuuuut, not pleasant to the touch & probably wouldn't wear well, anyway, let alone "go" as well w/ your more gardeny theme!)...I think hot pink would call tooo much attention to them tho, right?).... annnnnyhooooo, just a thought... waddayathink???

I ADORE what you've done, and OH! All that MAGNIFICENT GREENERY just floats my creative boat!!! (We live in the desert, but luckily at the golf course!!! STILLLLLLL..... greenery ALWAYS speaks to my heart, and mixed with the black & hot pinks you chose, it's just... wellllll, DIVINE!!!).

Warmest blessings,

Dear Linda in AZ!
You are so right.
We do need to spray paint those new metal chains.
My daughter just now reminded me of that when we drove up the driveway!
Then I came inside and checked in and there was your comment about that very same issue!

I will take care of that.
I did not have any black Rustoleum when we put it up so I will get some and soon!!

Thanks Linda!

Alison,
I love your porch furniture and I've always loved a swing. There is nothing better to lower the blood pressure than to sit on a swing and sip iced tea in the summer. Very nice.

Alison..the swing is great and your porch, gorgeous!...My hubby and I were on a walk in the neighborhood at lunch today and he noticed all the porches with the drapes...he said he really liked the look...I was surprised...Never thought he would go for that...so hopefully porch drapes may be in my future...I love the way yours soften the look of the patio..Beautiful!!...

This whole area is absolutely gorgeous!!!! I love the deck above and patio beneath, SO much. We have a deck and patio below but never figured out how to keep the rain from coming through the boards on the deck, OR do some type of ceiling on the patio. Sorry, didn't mean to go off on a tangent ther:):) I LOOOOVE the hot pink with the black and white cushions! I got some new black and whiote cushions but planned to apir them with green. Now that sounds BORING:):) We are swingers too:) Joe built our swing many years ago. XO, Pinky

Alison, Your porch is incredibly beautiful. I love your swing and all your furniture and cushions. I love the curtains as well. I have thought about curtains but I don't I could get that by Bob.
We have a swing on our front porch that I bought for Bob on our 25th anniversary. We will celebrate 54 on June 15. That makes us and the swing vintage.

Our swing was fine, but the tree that held it got hit by lightening and fell over! So now I don't have either.
