Kentucky Derby Party - Pt 2

Welcome to Part 2
of the scenes from the
Kentucky Derby Party
staging from the House Tour
on Thursday.

These are scenes in the kitchen.

I loved this kitchen! Love the white cabinets and the brick walls.

Jenn staged a derby pie contest.

These were the derby pies... on vintage glass cake stands.

This little pie took the cake!

Brought my shadow box of vintage ribbons for the staging in the kitchen.

Chocolate and peanut butter horse head lollipops raced on a bed of wheat grass.

Vintage derby collectibles and accessories became the backdrop in the kitchen.

We showcased items we typically sell at Blue Cardinal Antiques & Vintage.

Next time I will show you what we did in this room!

We also staged the front entry area.

I took these shots at 9 am
just before the first shuttle bus
of guests arrived. Pardon the
shadows and bright sunlight patches!

This gorgeous derby hat was made by Lisa Farrell of Ooh La La Millinery
and you can find her and this hat for sale here.

These hat scenes were staged just inside this front door area.

Tomorrow I will share the
kitchen table area that we set
up for kids with a
Kentucky Derby theme.
Come back and visit again then!

What fun the derby is for you. Last Christmas my husband made horse racing games, maybe we will have to play it in honor.

Love your Derby decor! I was born in Louisville, Ky, and my aunt who lived next door in a historic home, always had the best Derby parties. Your post really brought back memories or my aunts court yard done with tables with white clothes, julip cups, and an entry garden of red geraniums. She always had fun details like you have. Thanks for the post and the memories!!!
