Pairings

Found this sweet box
on Ebay or Etsy last week.

Cannot remember which,
but it was just too special to pass up....
that and it was plaid!

Kind of scuffed and tattered,
 hand-painted,
though not very old.

It's actually bigger than it looks --
much like a small shoe box.

Now that's what I call "chippy-shabby"!

Sweet enough on its own,
but when paired with
the little golden retriever
I found a couple weeks
ago in brass...

... it's a cute little pair, right?

Have you done any
match-making lately?

:)

P.S.
For the next two days,
I will be scouring the local
antique and vintage markets and shops with Jenn
in search of some new things for the shop.
So excited to see what
treasures are to be found!

Have to get in the "mind set"
which my friend Jeannie
reminds me when we go out
to restock our shops.

She asks me,
"are you on a buying trip
or a shopping trip?"

(I Shop for the shop, but I BUY for me!!!)

Some days there is
a very fine line. It's so HARD.
"Stay focused" she tells me!
Jeannie is much more disciplined than I.
:)

Keep you posted!

Love your new puppy. The plaid box, silver and red tulips are such a wonderful match.

Plaid will always remind me of elementary school... as I trotted off with my plaid lunch box wearing my plaid dress made from the same material as my dads shirts.

Focus, remember you are shopping.

I'm sure that IS a "fine line"! Sometimes I cross it by "buying" for a shop I don't have....That is NOT a good thing.

Your pairing is very attractive, by the way. The puppy is really sweet.

Alison, like minds! I think I may have bid against you on this one. LOL I did end up with a card box that is painted like yours. I'll need to pair it up with something soon and do a post. ;-)
I'm envious of your shopping trip! Oh, I guess I should say "buying" trip! Have fun and find lots of treasures. ~ Sarah

Hi! Alison,

Just love the tartan pattern. The box combined with the sweet Golden Retriever compliment each other "beautifully". Nice find! Love the contrast with the tulip too. Very inviting!

ha! i get the mind set thing. that is why it is so easy for me to part with vintage jewelry. i love admiring the pieces as art but i usually have very little desire to wear a piece more than once!

plaid is like the most timeless thing!

How can you buy without shopping!? I'll be with you "in spirit"!

That would be a huge challenge for me...I'd end up wanting to keep what I find. I guess when you have a shop you have to be disciplined. Be sure to share your treasures with us.

Love both the plaid box, and your brass puppy. I wish I hadn't seen the puppy. Now I have to go back and see if the brass lot is still there.

I would have so much trouble if I had to shop for work. Staying focused must be so difficult. Thanks for sharing.
