Men in Plaid

Mad for plaid.
Tartan.
Plaid.
Whether you love it
or hate it.

It has been around for
a very, very long time.

Here are some plaid images
I have been drooling over lately.

Horse and plaid.

Love it too.
Unfortunately our tartan is not really very pretty. I live in the U.S. and so I wear any one I want - most people don't know or care, here.

I hope you feel better soon, Alison! Plaid is such a classic, although I don't use it in my own home. I suppose it is because I had to wear plaid in my school uniform for 8 years, when I was growing up in Brooklyn, and went to Catholic school!

Wouldn't it be fun to decorate a room with your families tartan!

The plaids are wonderful. One of the first galas I attended, my gown was black velvet on top and plaid taffeta skirt! I loved it!

Love men in plaid and men in kilts. I bought a RL tartan throw yesterday, but the colors don't work really well with my house...not that that ever a consideration with tartan. LOL
Hope you feel better soon.

Love the classic plaid..part of my heritage is Scotch/Irish..so I guess plaid runs thru my veins! The images are so Ralph Lauren'esque...I just loved his restaurant in Chicago,RL's..never wanted to leave that beautiful restaurant. Get well soon!

I hope you're feeling better! Maybe a soft plaid afgan to cuddle up with would be helpful!

I love plaid and back in the 80's when plaid was in I had lots of plaid pants which, looking at the pictures now, didn't look very good on me ....don't know if it was the plaid or those huge bangs!!!

I love tartan and tried to get my husband to try on the tartan with his name while we were in Edinburgh but he would have no part of it. He likes the plaid, just won't wear it. Great photos. Hope your feeling better soon.

When I was a kid my mom liked to make my dad shirts. Usually plaid and always a few seasonal ones to go with the holidays. She then made me adorable little dresses out of his left over fabric. Problem was, plaid wasn't popular when I was a kid, and matching your dads shirt when you were 10, NOT cool!

Great piece. If I may, though, offer a correction: the image, fourth from the bottom, attributed to "RL" isn't actually Ralph Lauren. It's the home of interior designer Scot Meacham Wood
(tartanscot.blogspot.com)

Allison,

Thank you for your kind note - but, unfortunately, an additional correction is needed.

The office space that you have marked as mine, is in fact, an image from Mr. Lauren's home in Bedford, Conn.

The picture of my work is the one several images further down - of the living room with the zebra rug and the Christmas tree. In fact, I'm sitting on the very sofa as I type this . . . lol.

Cheers,
Scot
