Went to the shop
to "swirl" things around yesterday
with Jenn, my business partner,
and as we were walking
to get to our booth....
she spied this for me
in another dealer's booth.
One of the hazards of having an antique shop.... you find things to "keep", not sell! |
It is a leather fire bucket or pail
and though it is old
it is an antique repro
that must have been made as a prop
for Brooks Brothers.
If you know anything about this Brooks Brothers pail, please let me know! |
Such a great patina on the leather.... the strap broke when I carried it in! |
Then we went later in the day
to a very small flea market.
I say "small" because the
clouds were gray all day
and many vendors did not show.
(Only 8 to be exact!)
But I found a couple goodies anyway.
As found...haven't tried to polish them yet. |
An instant small trophy collection.
Isn't she lovely? |
Another alabaster lamp!
No swirly bulbs for this one. |
Have you found any goodies recently?

Love love love that lamp. Trophies are great too....yep no awful swirl bulbs for that lamp.
The alabaster lamp is gorgeous and definetally the Eng. leather bucket! What great finds, pal! They go perfect in the Polo house. Lots of hugs. FABBY
Alison,
Your bucket is really cool, have not seen anything like it. Love the red design on it, it goes perfectly with your things. The trophies are my favorites, I have a few but they have become really hard to find here and have gotten expensive. I seem to always find more things to keep then to sell!
Rebecca
I'm loving it all... especially the trophies! swoon!!!
That leather pail is gorgeous, Alison! I don't think I've seen something like that before. I'll bet that could be used a number of ways in your home, too!
HI Alison. I love that lamp! The other treasures are wonderful too. The fire bucket is beautifully made and a great conversation piece. Have a lovely weekend! Pamela
Fabulous finds! Love the trophy collection ... such a interesting bucket (hope you find out more info on it ... love the color), and the lamp is beautiful. Truly a successful day!
Did you go home with all those goodies, or just drool over them? I loved the trophy collection~they are so pricey these days!
Great finds! I'm always looking for alabaster lamps, but it is slow go here in Colorado. They do show up once in awhile, however. Yours is lovely. Sally
Thanks for your visit. You did well - love the trophies - I am always looking for them but thay aren't always easy to find. Have a great weekend.
I love the bucket, who cares if it is real and old. Looks wonderful.RC
The alabaster lamp is delightful Alison. I walked away from one recently and am kicking myself. I just bought a hand made signed German wooden bowl and a Japanese lacquered box for my daughter from the 1930's.
Just to share with you folks, i have a new post today on Amish Stories from the Terre Hill days even that was just held in Lancaster Pennsylvania. It was a very hot day but i was able to get i think a few good images from this event. The town is populated with a mix of Amish and old order Mennonites which only adds to its charm. They even have what has become famous in Terre Hill their "outhouse race". The town sits on a hill so it overlooks Lancaster farmland in almost all directions. This is one of my favorite towns to visit because its free from commercialism, so if you are looking for a really all American kind of town with the added bonus of seeing its Amish and Mennonite residents at work and play, then this town is for you. Thanks folks. Richard from Amish Stories.
Do you have an online store? I adore your goodies and truly some do need to find their way DownUnder! Ever hopeful, Sarah
Looovvveeee your finds. The trophies and the lamp make my heart go pitter patter. The bucket will go perfect in your home! It's so cool. Thanks for sharing!
Whoo, I'm drooling over the trophies/loving cups. I never see any down here. People must keep them forever or someone is hoarding them. :) I keep looking though.
Great looking fire bucket and I LOVE the alabaster lamps. I only have one and need a new shade for it. Something more updated. Great finds and thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Babs
Alison, The fire bucket and trophies are perfect for your home. I love the lamp too. Congrats on such great finds.
