Four legged fuzzy love.

Since I am leery about
sharing personal information and images
about my children, I thought I would
share with you a little about my "other" children.

If you have pets,
you know how quickly
they become part of your family
and nestle and nudge their
little personalities straight into your heart.

Would somebody push us?
I thought I said no sitting on the chairs?

"Cada" is actually named Cicada...she came four summers ago in the midst of the 17 year cicada "infestation" here in Illinois! She ate every single black nasty bug she could find. The name just seemed to work!

Each one is different in their own way.
Each one adds so much to our lives.
They give and and require very little in return.

So blessed to have all these furry babies in our lives.

Two shelter kitties. Max on left and Simba.

Maxxie taking time to smell the roses.... or tulips?

Simba has to lay on the bed when you try to make it.

Don't ever put a bird feeder outside your kitchen window.

She's sick and she needed me to be her pillow. Of course I said yes!

Do you have cats or dogs or both?
Maybe birds or rabbits?

Tell me!

I would love to hear about
what keeps your lap warm!
xx,
Alison

Hi Alison,
I am leery of showing clear pictures of my children as well, but I love to talk about my dog, Harry- he is such a sweetheart! Harry is a Cavalier King Charles spaniel and has a personality very similar to retrievers. Your dogs are beautiful- I love labs and retrievers! I admire you for adopting your cats from the shelter.

Alison, I used to have a cat that looks just like your two. I also used to have a long haired gray cat named Max. When he died from feline leukemia even after being vaccinated, that one hit my husband the hardest. Your dogs are so cute. That is funny about eating the bugs. I wish Bailey would eat the giant ants coming in right now.

Hi Alison we have a dog. Toby will be 14 this June and people still think he's a pup. We had a female also that we rescued and Brandy was with us for 8yrs but we had to put her down 2yrs ago she was full of cancer. That was the HARDEST thing to do! Toby is definitely my 4th child and so much part of the family!! Your fur babies are adorable! Martina

Such beautiful fur babies! Our kitty was a rescue also. I actually found her in a dumpster where I used to work. Thanks for sharing. Oh, and I posted today about my big win and shared the Easter card story. It gives me chills when I look at the card now. Thanks so much for adding it to the giveaway.

Oh, Alison, it's fun to see your sweet furry family. We miss having a pet around the house and in our laps, but after we lost our beloved lhasa apso we haven't gotten another. We do talk about getting another pet.
Thanks for sharing yours with us. ~ Sarah

Your dogs are both sweet. We have a dog, Marshall, and I did a whole blog about him on March 31, his 10 year anniversary of being with us. I'm not crazy about cats. I like them from a distance :-) Marshall like to eat flies and moths and June bugs! ;-0 Have a great week. Pamela

I am loving your family of pets...I think they make a house a home. Cada has a great name, I remember that infestation and I really hate any kind of bug that clicks or makes noise...chillllls!!

We have 2 dogs, Milo and Layla. I'd have kitties too except they make me sneeze! We also have a very mean parrot, Nina.

I love the pictures in your post, especially the one of kitty by the sink!!

XO,
Jane

Alison, I'm the same way about showing my grandchild's photo.
However, I DO love seeing your fur babies as we don't have pets now. Ours dogs and cats grew old long ago and we just never got another.
Yours have such sweet faces and I know they have a wonderful, loving home with you.
Thanks for sharing your cute fur babies.

Alison I think you're right to be leery. I read somewhere not to put anything on your blog that you wouldn't want seen on a billboard over a Los Angeles freeway....You never know who's reading.
But movin' on... Your furbabies are adorable! I love how Cada got her name.
I have three dogs and a cat, all pound or unwanted animals. They're my spoiled kids *winks* Vanna

Hi Alison, like you we have 2 dogs. A cocker spaniel and a small collie. They are a "huge" part of our family. With all of Mr. P's illnesses the cocker spaniel is his constant companion. I can't imagine our life without our 4 legged friends being in it.

hi Alison, I know exactly how you feel about your pets. We've had our share. My last pet, a springer spaniel was so dear to us. He made it fourteen year. I haven't been ready for another one yet, but some day. You have such a sweet little extended family, all look so sweet.....

I have to tell you I made your "Best Ever Appetizer" and it was a big hit. Just as promised it was so easy. We had dinner guest Sat night before Easter and I needed something easy because I had a big meal to make on Easter Sunday. Perfect! Everyone thought it delicious. Thanks a million.....

Hi Alison,
I love your fur babies!
No, we do not have any pets right now. Our family dog Kona passed away a few years ago, we still miss her very much. We commute 5.5 hours a day so having a pet would not be far. We might add a fur baby to our family when we retire. But until then I enjoy playing and loving up my daughters two boxers.
Have a sweet day and hugs, Elizabeth

We have a cat, Abby. We always refer to her as our kitty because, well she just has never grown up. She is still very playful & full of fun & life. She's also very petite. She is scary smart some times. I've even used some child-proof locks on cupboards to keep her out -- she opens stuff! She is sweet & very affectionate & we love her to pieces. We got her from our local humane society.

Hi Alison,
I don't show pictures of my children's faces either! But I wish I had some furry creatures to show! It has been so long since we have had a pet. I grew up with a dog and have had many cats over the years. My kids keep asking for a dog. Since my husband doesn't want to deal with the hair, we are thinking about getting a Wheaten Terrier. We'll see, since I will be the one taking care of it I am sure. I don't know if I am ready for a puppy right now!
Your "babies" are absolutely precious! They look like such sweeties!

Hi Alison, We don't have a pet right now but I do have a grand dog named Jack! He is part pit bull and mutt but the sweetest and most gentle dog you can imagine. Jack had surgery yesterday to remove a six pound benign tumor but he is doing well. Your furry family are all so cute.
Hugs,
Sherry
