Love Seats

1.

Do you own a love seat?
I had to stop and think about it....
I have just one.

2.

3,

But mine is "prit-tee darn boring"
when you compare it to these.

4.

Working with my client,
we are looking at all kinds of
wonderful pieces of furniture.

And loveseats are on the list too.
Here are some especially sweet ones
my searches have uncovered this week.

Don't you "love" them?

Some wowsers you have over here in the love seat department. I can't believe the one with the pagoda fabric and the asian shape~I loved it (go figure!) How about slipcovering your plain jane one?

Don't know if I have ever met a love seat I didn't just love. They are so pretty, and you can dress them up with trims and fluff them up with pillows and they just fit into little corners of rooms and under stairwells so perfectly. They are a must have and I do own a few....love them!

I have a leather love seat. You've showed some real beauties. My fav is #12. The straight lines with frilly legs, good mix of masculine and feminine. Pretty!

That's a toughy! I like several them - especially in appearance. Numbers 7 & 9 would probably fit best in my decorating scheme (such as it is)... However, I would have to sit in both of them before making my decision.

Comfort is KING at our house :)

I LOVE love seats...they don't take up a lot of space in small rooms yet they are so comfy for one or two people! I am loving number 4...just a pretty neutral that goes with everything. The cushions look so big and soft. Comfort is my number one thing!

Jane

I love number 8! I don't have a love seat per se....but I just bought a vintage French settee that I am recovering and it is about the size of a love seat.

Alison -
Love 3, 8, and 11. I have two - one from the 80's that is so out of style, but built well, and soooo comfy (it is in my basement) and a wicker on my sun porch. I agree with a previous poster.....I would have to sit in it before making a purchase. I have FINALLY learned from experience that having something pretty but not useful is a waste. Took several purchases before that lesson was learned. LOL.

Oh Lord, I would DIE if anyone saw our 2 love seats. There is NO LOVE coming from me towards them!!!!!!!!!! One is VERY old and presently sits in our MB, the other is in the family room and I have hated it (and the matching, God awful) sofa since the day we got them. I would oitch both in the trash with NO hesitation:):) XO, pinky

#7 seems so luxurious to me! I have a camelback love seat that I have had forever. It's been recovered 3 times, but I still love the style. It needs to be recovered again.

We only own an antique Victorian camelback one...but numbers 5 and 11 are more my style! ;P

I had a love seat in a bright yellow French country print in front of the kitchen fireplace in our last house. When we moved, I had it recovered in painter's drop cloth and moved to a guest room. The upholsterer said it was her favorite piece that she has ever done because she loved working with the drop cloth and loved the way it turned out.

We have one pert-y boring love seat too, in the living room. The room is so small, I used a love seat because I wanted it to face the fireplace. Love numbers 9 and 12.

Oh they are fabulous, I love nos. 7, 8 and 11 the most, but I could love any one of them.

Sarah said...

Alison, since early in our marriage we've had four love seats in our home - a pair in the living room and another one in one in each of our guest rooms. Like gate leg tables, I think they are great pieces that can easily be moved about as needed. Love the creativity of all the ones you show, but #8 is my favorite style.

Those are beautiful! Yes, I have two loveseats and one Settee. They are great for smaller spaces or small walls!

#1 and #7. Be still my heart! But especially the green houndstooth. I would smile every day when I saw it.
