Do you remember?

When you were little

can you tell me ....

what lunch box you carried

  to school each day?

Maybe you had
a different one each year?

Take a look
at the ones I remembered
(enough to find every image below!)
and see if maybe they
  jog your memory?

My sister Susan carried this one.

Captain Kangaroo!

''

I carried this one for a couple years. Thought for sure I would marry David someday.

Sing it with me.... "H.R. Puffinstuff, whatcha do when things get rough?....."   LOL!

Hey, hey we're the Monkey's, and people say we monkey around!

I used to write fan letters to Jan. We are both middle children and I felt like I "got her"!!!!! Hahaha!

Yabadabadoo! It's lunchtime!

Creepy little guys....never got the connection to their popularity really!

"Come and  listen to my story 'bout a man named Jed...."

"Warning! Warning! Enemy approaching! Danger Will Robinson!"

Twinkie the Kid? Never saw this one!

Some of these just cracked me UP!!!

This big head is so scary, I think I would have lost my appetite looking at him.

THIS is what I carried. I loved Bobby and share the same birthdate! Can you believe I married a guy whose last name is Sherman? Now that's destiny. LOL

My brother-in-law said he was too cool to carry a tin box so he carried this.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. That was so fun! I don't remember having a lunch box...plenty of brown paper bags though. I believe it less about being cool and more about me ys coming home without an article of clothing, like gloves, hats, etc. Losing stuff, and I don't think I ever grew out of it. (Loved Bobby Sherman too!)

I am like your brother-in-law...not that I was too cool, but that I carried a paper sack. I think it was because I am a little(alot?) older than you -lol. I think my younger sisters carried lunch boxes.

Yikes! Losing my mind as well. Add the missing "was" and ignore the ys that doesn't belong in above post.

My daughter has the Snoopy and the Donnie and Marie ones in storage. Most of these look familiar because as an primary school teacher, I saw them every day at noon!

I know I had a lunch box in elementary school, but then we had paper bags for lunch. And we had to bring them home to reuse them for the week (all 5 kids)~hows that for recycling in the '70s??

Brings back lots of memories...I had a patterned brown one with red thermos, and an oval plastic zip up...so 60's cool with my go-go boots! I recently found the early 80's orange Snoopy box like my oldest son took to kindergarten...now his children play with it!

To tell might give my age away!! Actually I just remember a paperbag and I agree with someone above, it had to be recycled. Way to "green" before we knew it.

Yes, that completely brings back the memories! I can't remember which one I carried though. Strange I know. I do recall alot of the characters you showed. Some that bring back fond memories are Pufinstuff and Holly Hobbie.

Wow, this sure reminded me that I am OLD! I never had a lunch box, just the paper bags, but my DAUGHTER had the Holly Hobby one and the Strawberry Shortcake one. Lots of others that I can't remember now. Thanks for the sweet memories! XO, Pinky

What a great trip down memory lane. Some of these I never heard of though. I carried a paper bag in high school and during elementary we walked home for lunch every day. Great post!

I must be really old, in elementary school were were able to walk home everyday for lunch. Only the kids that had working mothers, (about 20 kids in the whole school) stayed for lunch. We always felt bad for them, no grilled cheese or tomato soup. Laura Cottage and Broome

I carried a Beatles Yellow Submarine lunch box in Kindergarten. I had a vinyl Holly Hobby one in fourth grade. It was my very favorite.

But I want that Hardy Boys Mysteries one. Like now, because I was an equal opportunity stalker of Parker Stevenson and Shaun Cassidy!!! *le sigh*

What a fun post! I was looking through all the lunch boxes and wondering if you ever saw a Bobby Sherman one and then there it was towards the bottom! I LOVED him too! It's so funny that he was part of your post, I had recently googled him and he has a fan web site. There was a reunion of sorts for Bobby Sherman fans and he came! There were several pictures. He has aged a lot but still recognizable as Bobby Sherman.
Thanks for the fun post Alison!

Sweet memories! I had the first one, that Barbie patent leather type. Wasn't it just so fashionable?! I also had the Holly Hobbie one. Those are the only two that stand out in my mind. It was always a treat to get something warm like soup in the thermos. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

I had the Holly Hobby one but I wanted a Partridge Family one. But my Holly Hobby one was in such good shape my Mom refused to buy me a new one. Fun post.
