Alison..I am very sad today in remembering the events of 9/11. My heart is heavy thinking of those innocents lives that were taken and all the families still dealing with the aftermath. I can only hope and pray for our world to become peaceful through tolerance, acceptance and understanding of one another.
When the US government decides to stop using Drones on innocent civilians, when it decides to stop sending American troops to fight unjust wars on foreign soil, when innocent children are not maimed and murdered thanks to US interventionism we won't have people hating us in this regard. In the meantime, vote for people like Ron Paul, who truly care about the big picture. This has nothing to do with intolerance, Alison. They hate us because we killed their family members. That is at the very core.
Ms. A. I was in New York city during all this. I lived in the Hamptons and was in the city visiting my friend, Susan, who lived in the old garment district. It was a mess, everyone was sacred to death, the air was full of awful fumes and smoke. There were people everywhere and no one knew what to do and when to do it. I have to say the city officals came together and did a beautiful job. With the scope of this, it was amazing how fast they got every thing and every one under control. It was several days before I could get out of town and back to the Hamptons only 70 miles away. Who knew what was next. But, you can't keep those New York city dwellers down, onward and forward is there motto. God Bless the USA.Richard from My Old Historic House.
My flag is out today, I put it up as soon as I got up. There is nothing as evocative or beautiful as an american flag...even when it represents the memories of such a tragic day.
Thanks for commenting on my first blog post! I've already been following your blog. I love it. Kim showed me pics of your home and I fell hard! You are one of my faves. I was just watching the A&E channel this morning to see the documentary called "102 minutes that changed America". It was really something. This is such a sad day for so many.
I am Norwegian, and was sitting in my living room watching TV, when they suddenly interrupted the program to tell the terrible news. Text messages started coming in from friends and family: "Have you watched news?" and "Turn on your TV". It was like Norway stoped the next few days, of shock and horror; how could anybody do something like that? The whole country had their thoughts og love for Amerika that day, and we still do. We will not forget! Love Nina
Alison, it is sad to remember. Your flag shot is lovely. We fly our flag ll year. I remember how most flew the US flag after 9/11. I love to see our red, white, and blue waving proudly. ~ Sarah
The Taliban changed our country forever. So many of our children will never know the carefree spirit that I grew up with and that is a shame. God bless the families torn to shreds because of what happened on 9/11. I hope that they will heal and forgive. Wonderful memorial, Alison!
Alison, I left a comment earlier but it wouldn't post. I LOVE the idea of a national day of tolerance, that is exactly what we need to teach our children....and ALOT of adults!!!!! XO, Pinky
Alison, We will never forget. My flag flies everyday. We just returned from NYC today. Very somber around the streets this morning, but what a great city New York is. The people are carrying on in this great country that we live in.

Everything I saw and felt that day are a part of my fiber. I'm saddened by the lives lost, and in awe of the heroism displayed that day.
