The Junk That Binds Us

Oh my heavens....
words cannot even express
how awesome
the Junk Bonanza
was this year!

I took a lot of pictures of our trip,
which I will share in the coming days.

We shopped on our way there,
and a tiny bit on our way back.
(No space left in the truck!)

We rented a bigger truck this year,
two feet longer than last year --
and somehow we managed to fill all 12 feet!
We actually had to
ask a very kind vendor
from Illinois to haul a couple pieces
back because we couldn't fit
them on the truck.

(We spent over five hours on Friday night
loading the truck and suv. It's like building
a puzzle... lots of stacking and strapping
and securing and padding. NOT the fun part
of our business.)

Lots of laughing and frustrating moments....
you could have compared it to a
Lucy and Ethel
episode if they had ever tried
to own a moving company!

Many thanks to some of the husband's
of our favorite vendors who stopped by to
give us advice and assistance on
packing how-to's! You know who you are!
We appreciate it so.

This is Hunt and Gather in Minneapolis.

We also got to go visit one of our most favorite
shops in Minneapolis, called Hunt & Gather, owned
by the charming Kristi who is truly a creative genius.
If you have never been there... please go. It is unlike any
other antique/vintage shop in the world.... yes, the world.
I am not exaggerating.
It is my happy place.
Organized colorful chaos
in the most pleasing arrangement.
So excited to be there
that I forgot to take photos though!

We also made our annual trek
to Bachmann's Idea House
and got to go on opening night.
What a treat!
Will explain more about the Idea House
when I post the pictures.
You will be amazed at this
Minneapolis seasonal attraction.

But in the meantime,
I wanted to post a photo of two
blogging friends I got to meet
at the Junk Bonanza!

This is Suzanne of Holly & Privet blog,
and Linda of Itsy Bits and Pieces blog!
Linda and her daughter were vendors
so we all met at her booth on Friday afternoon.
Such fun! Sorry we couldn't visit longer.
GREAT ladies. Hope you follow both of their blogs!

Drove home today after four days
of unlimited fun, laughs, and so much inspiration
your head feels like it might explode!

Missed you all!
Will post more tomorrow.
xx~

Oh that does look like a great time, shopping and stuffing a truck full and seeing friends! Love the last pic of the urns...I grabbed one yesterday at auction, and it is very old and crusty and has some damage...but I couldn't resist!

I was in your neighborhood yesterday, lamenting the fact that i do not have your phone number. I thought I could buy you lunch. You weren't here anyhow. (insert sad face here).
I was in Deerfield buying a set of six Louis XVI side chairs. I have wanted them for, like, ever! More than I should have paid on Craigslist but less than I would have paid at Restoration Hardware...
I cannot wait to see documentation of your adventure!
Going to the Botanic Gardens next week if I can squeeeeeeeze it in! Wanna go?
