If you 've got it, why not flaunt it?

Antique knob collection

Antique and vintage horse brasses
Antique daguerreotype collection

C O L L E C T I O N S

(One of my most favorite things to talk about.)

So much fun to see
what people collect
and then even more interesting
to see all the different create ways
they display
their collections.

I've run across
so many fantastic groupings.

Antique wooden dough bowls

Collection of shells in an old printer's tray. In the 70's it seemed everyone
had one that they were filling up to hang on their wall. I had one, did you?

Old bread boards

Antique French processional crosses

So what have
you got
hiding in a drawer somewhere
just dying
to see the light of day?

Why not pull it all
out in the open and
flaunt it?

Come on,
dig into those closets and attics,
boxes, trunks, and drawers.

What's the point of having
a collection if it is
out of sight and out of mind?

Share your passion
for collecting whatever it is.

Chances are
if it is meaningful to you
it may be
to someone else too.

The best part
about decorating a home
is adding
those uniquely special
personal touches
that make a home
yours.

Plus it's the weekend ...
the perfect time
for
an excavation.

Get digging!

What a fun post to see all these wonderful collections! I guess I have a collection of teacups but not like in the photo. I actually brought a box full (about 30) up from the attic at my mil's house where our son lives. Not sure what I'll do with them. Oh dear. Wish I had a pretty glass cabinet to display them in. Hmmm.... Seems to me there's one of those down there too. Now if I just had the room to bring it up here too! :)

Hi Alison!
I LOVE that image of the dough bowl collection. How amazing it would be to have so many! I only have one but it is old and I knew the gentleman whose mother used it to make her biscuits. And I did have a printer's tray back in the 70s and wish that I still had it! Hope I get my patriotic display up so that I can join your party!

Alison, I'm a collector of many things so this post is really fun for me. Great to see how others are showcasing their collections. Especially enjoyed seeing the group of scissors because I have a collection of scissors. My favorite is the arrangement of bread boards on the wall. '-)

I have one huge collection of vintage scarves (passed down from my mom) and a small collection of transferware which I am starting to appreciate. Great post.

Alison... When I married my husband, my MIL asked me what I collected I told her "husbands." Sense of humor is not her strong suit... Have a great week.

What a great point! It is always sad when people try very hard to decorate their home with things that don't have any meaning to them just because they saw it or think it is how it's done... Then it looks like a hotel... Collection.
Love to collect old cups and love when people display it well like on your images!
