Good to Know: Remedy for Wood Stains

My dear friend Kathy

left me a voicemail one day

to tell me that she had 

a home remedy to share

 found on Pinterest

 that really worked.

She thought that I might have a need

for this information.

Fate!

Yes, I did really need this helpful hint

 for my home and my client's house too ...

for our 

kitchen table tops.

We've had white heat stains 

on our antique parquet top 

English oak kitchen table for MONTHS.

This simple remedy gets them to disappear. 

The white marks shown here

were left by a hot cardboard pizza box.

(They "look" like white paint fingerprints,

but they are not!)

 I never  thought to put placemats or trivets

under the boxes because it is rare

when a pizza actually arrives here HOT.

I tried rubbing the spots out,

warm soap and water, even lemon oil

but nothing worked. 

But apparently,
all you need to remove this stain
is a
hairdryer.
Who knew?

Just turn it on
using the warmest heat setting,
aim it at the spot keeping nozzle edge
2-4 inches above 
and wait a few minutes.
It disappears right before
your eyes.
