Idea House -- Exterior Inspirations

If and when you are ever 
lucky enough to get to Minneapolis,
(love it there),

you need to check online 
and see if you are there 
during one of the 
four seasonal openings of the 
Idea House at Bachmann's --  
  a floral, gift and garden center.

Bachmann's has several locations 
in the twin cities area,

but at the main location 

the original family farmhouse still sits
on the original farm property in Minneapolis
and it becomes the "Idea House" four times a year.


Local designers transform the home
each season and they sell tickets 
 so you can go through 

and see their clever decorating ideas.
inside and out.

What's even better, 
is that they sell nearly all of the items 
they use to decorate 
inside their huge retail store 

(which is located in the same parking lot!)
Is that convenient, or what?

It is such an inspirational place

and you may have seen other bloggers

raving about it. Lucky for me, it opens

for the fall showing on the same weekend

as the Junk Bonanza so we have been able to

visit it for the last two years.

of the yard, garage and potting shed.

The interior of the potting shed was set up for a ghoulish party!

A rubber glove mold gets a little tied up!

In the corners of the shed there were trees and spider webs.

The potting shelves were filled with clever witchy ingredients labeled in jars.

Inside the garage bay they set up a cowboy round-up fall party table.

The table's centerpiece was a dead tree hanging with Ball jar candleholders.

They took some "Redneck Wine Glasses" and wrapped hay around the bases.

Cowboy style drink buffet.
