Sleeping in a Hayloft

There's a long hall on the second floor
that leads to the master bedroom.

The master bedroom here via Midwest Living Magazine December 2013

You may remember this image
of the bedroom in the hayloft
from the feature of the house
that appeared in Midwest Living.

Though it doesn't show --
the walls in this area are covered with
 a straw-colored grass cloth wallpaper.

(Straw in the hayloft, get it!?!)

:D

Framed photos of our children
when they were little
are hung in a set above this vintage chair.

I found the leopard runner
at the Chicago Merchandise Mart
years ago. It's usually in my closet
which is an odd shape due to a slanted ceiling
but I pulled it out to add an additional layer to the set.

Max, one of our two cats,
was watching me snap these photos.

He was particularly curious about the flashes.

Being the HAM that he is, he jumped up to be the center of attention,

Cheeeeeese?

Wishing you a great weekend.
Thank for stopping by!

those walls are wonderful. I bought that issue when it came out as I was visiting my daughter and stopped in Naperville's Barnes and Nobel to buy it since they don't sell Midwest magazines in Texas. I've been subscribing ever since and love when they feature homes like yours.

LOVE the leopard in the mix. I'd love to have a leopard print stair runner, but I don't have the courage for something that "permanent". Your kitty boy is terribly handsome. they do like to be the center of attention!

Alison, love this! It's fun to see more of your wonderful home. I so admire your style!!! The grass cloth wall paper is classic. I've friends who have used it in their homes, and a home we seriously considered buying last spring had grass cloth in the entry and living area. It's a great look, and yes, grass / hay, I get it. Ha! Love the antique chair, especially with the kitty lounging in it.
Just got back from the Boerne Antique Show. Did you hear a squeal? I found a tartan egg! Now I have three. The Easter basket is looking up! '-)
