Vintage Horse Show Ribbons

Horse show ribbons!

What to do
horse show ribbons?

Sharing some
lovely images of
 colorful ribbon
collections today.

They're an
old-fashioned tradition
it's nice to know
they are still around
and have not been replaced
by some newer
more glitzy version,
don't you agree?

Some things should just stay the same.

Some vintage ribbons I have hanging in my office on an old egg-drying crate.

Cloe-up of a ribbon on my bulletin board.

Bulletin board with show ribbon topped push pins.

Here's a clever idea where someone put their collection in apothecary jars.

What a lovely tribute to a special horse!

Sometimes ribbons get added to my holiday decorations.

Do have a collection of these and if so,
what have you done with yours?

I have boxes of ribbons from my daughter's showing days...these are some great ideas for what she might be able to with all of them!

Can you believe I scored around 70 or so at an estate sale all won by the same man! They are all circa 1950 and 1960. They are gorgeous and all from around Northern California. I treasure them but have yet to figure out just how to display them. One thought I had was to hang them all up in a definite pattern on one wall in a bedroom to make a feature wall. I might sell some in my Etsy Shop at some point as well. They are so cool, I'm having a difficult time parting with them. Love all the ideas you showed. Thanks for the inspiration.

I love these, too. I have a few old ones, what with living in Wayne and all! Figured they went well with our house's decor, at least when we first moved in 9 years ago...I even kept the original Ralph Lauren wallpaper (all about horses) in our powder room when it was refinished because I couldn't bear to part with it! The original owner of our house was the President of the Dunham Woods Riding Club.....I do love the history. Also, love that ribbon "wreath"! Thanks for sharing.

They're so bright and cheerful! What an honor it must have been to win one in a show and have it pinned on your pony!

Beautiful...they do make gorgeous decorative objects. I have a box of them from my riding days somewhere in my parents attic...it would be fun to dig them out and display them, you are giving me a new idea Alison!

Enjoy your weekend......

We have a ton of them I've been saving for the perfect project, but I don't know what that is yet. They are beautiful! Have a great weekend.
