Daybreak

My black lab, Cada,
has an internal clock.

Cada (short for Cicada) and Hallie

Whether she is anticipating
breakfast, lunch, or dinner
she comes to you
to let you know
"it's time."

(And she is usually within five minutes
of the scheduled feeding time.... remarkable.)

Here she is whimpering in the kitchen ....
Mom,  it's lunchtime..... helloooo? Are you listening?

When she was just a pup,
she would go to the window
at 3:10 every day
knowing the kids would
be walking down the road
from the bus stop.

She just knew.

She has to go
"out"
to do her business
and sniff all the scents in the yard,
maybe bark once or twice
to make her presence known
every morning at daybreak.

She runs the entire perimeter of the yard ---
knowing exactly where her
Invisible Fence boundaries are,
even though she no longer wears the collar.

No sleeping in
uninterrupted here...
... not if Cada is around.
(Tiny bladder)
:)

Anyway, these pics were taken
 one morning this past week
when I came down to let her out.
The pink/orange sky played so nicely
against the winter tree limbs
and my neighbor's house
through the trees.

Still not a real snowfall
here to speak of
but I am not complaining!
(January is almost over.)

Shhhhhh.
Don't tell Mother Nature!

This actress played Mother Nature
in the Chiffon Margarine ads in the 1970's ...
does her image pop in your head when
you hear "Mother Nature" too?  :)

Don't forget ...

Get your
favorite containers

(vases, urns, crocks, vases, boxes, jars,
ironstone pitchers, buckets, etc. etc. etc.)

photographed and ready to share
at the
 Favorites on the First
February Linky Party!

Really hope
to see
you
 there.

That is so beautiful! The imagery as well as the story of your angel!
Napoleon and Tallulah are STILL ASLEEP! I KNOW! What is that all about?
I initially chose Napoleon to help me wake early and now I have to wake HIM! Little sleepyheads!
Maybe the organic food tastes like crap? Just a thought. Why else would they sleep through breakfast? I know the organics I eat sometimes leave me wanting...LOL!

Your dogs are precious. One of our two dogs, Gracie, has an internal clock as well. She has adopted a new way of letting me know it's time to go out or meal time if I'm sitting with my laptop on my lap. First the head is propped on top of the screen. If that is ignored then she takes her paw and with all her weight pushes the screen down. I'm a sucker for dogs... so usually just her eyes peering over the screen is all it takes. I'm pretty well known for saying dogs are my favorite people. I hope I'm not offensive when I say that.... do the dogs I mean.

Gorgeous photos Alison! Our pup sleeps in our room in her little kennel covered with a towel, so she stays sleeping until we wake up...which is usually very early any way. However, my outside kitty is ALWAYS waiting by the door by 6am for her vittles. :)

Happy Sunday!

Your dogs are sweet. I love Labs. Beautiful sunrise photos. I am enjoying the sun shining into the living room as it rises now. A sure sign that the days are getting longer. Have a great week. Pamela

So very sweet. I understand Cada's timing well. My own black lab, Gracie is close by in her favorite rocking chair right now.
Much of my day consists of making her needs complete.
It's a precious job....loving a dog!

Sweet post, Alison. I was out of town all day yesterday, and today my Sadie girl hasn't wanted to leave my side. These critters are so sensitive to what's going on around them. As far as eating time, anytime Sadie activity in the kitchen, she's there!
Beautiful images of the pink sky at daybreak.

Alison,
Our dog Winnie is like that...if its meal time she's sure to wake us. The little dog, Madison, likes to sleep in!
Beautiful images of your winter morning.

We don't need a clock in this house. Jack Russell's are always on schedule! I hate to do anything different for fear that will become the NEW routine. Dogs what would we do without them?

Awww...I love to see/read stories about other people's dogs but I don't have one 'cause I DON'T want to have to get up to let them out at all hours. See you at "Favorites on the First"...planning my blog post now.
