Favorites on the First

It's Favorites on the First!

Wow!
Where on earth did April go?
I am not ready for this month's theme.

How did this happen?

It has been cold here lately...
too cold to plant any flowers.
 In the Chicago area,
the standard for spring planting
is to wait until Mother's Day
weekend when there is less of a
chance of a late spring freeze.

So I ran out
and grabbed some
fresh cut flowers
today
just to take
some pictures to post.
Embarrassing, really.

Yesterday,
I snapped some photos of the yard
that is still in the very early
spring stages of growth.

Love the colors and scents
of springtime, don't you?

So tell me,
have you got your front door
decor in full bloom?

Show us what you've got!
Link up now.

Thanks for hosting such an appropriate party for today, Alison! Thanks for letting us "hook up" an older post even. Your basket (is it a fishing creel?) looks fabulous on your front door. My iris' blooms have already come and gone here in Alabama...I hope you will post more pictures of yours in bloom.

I wish I had something to share, Alison. My front porch is pretty blah, since I don't have all my flowers out. Your door bouquet is gorgeous, and your grounds are heavenly!!

Hi Alison, your basket looks so inviting. And boy do I love the color of your door. I so want to paint mine a color but hubby is not too hep on painting over such gorgeous wood. Your zone is similar to mine. We also wait until Mothers Day to plant and I have the same colors flourishing in my garden. Your house is very pretty and looks like a wonderful place to call home. Thanks for hosting this fun party!
Hugs,
Jann

Your door looks beautiful. Looks like your yard is a little ahead of mine. My iris have not started to bud yet and there's nothing on my hydrangea except leaves.

Hi Alison:

Your door is beautiful with its fresh flowers. In fact, it is outstanding. Love the selection of flowers and the colors you put together. No need for embarassment. Fresh flowers to fauz (or everlasting flowers) anyday. Loved it Allison! Also, thanks for the party!! This is my first and decided to just wing it!!! (and there I was) M.A. ox

What a pretty bouquet, Alison! I am so sorry that I have lost track of your party, I would have joined although I don't have a thing on my front door but for a big carrot that says Welcome!! I guess it's time to take the Easter/spring stuff down! ;-D

Your yard and gardens are going to be bursting in a few weeks...what a shame we have to wait so long to plant anything and then it's over so soon! I still love my Chicago though!

Have a good week!

XO,
Jane

OMG! I was so excited to see your party I didn't know or realize I was doing a theme. I just got over to Babs' blog and realized I should have done a front door.
Just call me dunce. Send me the cap and I will wear it. Hugs, Ginger

Beautiful, Alison. Noting on our front door to share. I may have to explore the neighborhood to see if I can find a pretty door decoration. ;-)
This is lovely. Fun to see more shots of your home.
