We went antiquing in Iowa
in late April.
We shopped
antique malls and shops
between the Iowa border
and Des Moines.
So much fun!

Here are some photos

Lots of interesting
things to be found in this
extremely friendly state!

Alison,
I've got to visit the midwest (Iowa qualifies, doesn't it?). There are so many great antique sources there. I would like to have seen that salvage place...wow.

I remember when I was visiting my aunts and uncles in Iowa (dad born and raised on an Iowa farm).....even way back then, I found the antiquing was great and the prices better....there's lots of stuff in those old barns!!....Iowa...that's where the tallest corn grows...A song that my dad used to sing to us kids...Oh, how I miss his little "ditties" as he called them...So many sing a longs in the car...those were great, simple times!
I was born in Iowa. My grandfather had a farm there, and my parents still own it. I live on the west coast, and am dying to take an antiquing trip through Iowa and surrounding states! I have not spent any real time there since my early childhood.
It looks like you had a great time!

Alison, thanks for sharing the photos and the links. Looks like a fun time.
Alison, So glad Westend Salvage is going to be a TV show. I just loved those pictures and I had found my destination when I saw those pics. Thanks for sharing.

I wonder if we have any great salvage places around here? No word of mouth on any, but they might be out there - I'll have to look.
