As night falls

Pulled up the driveway
last evening just as
the last hour of daylight
was fading.

The leaves have fallen
and the winter cold
will soon set in --
though we had record temps
here this weekend
following a little snowfall
on Monday.

My seasonal
"thick skin"
has not yet formed
so every chill in the air
seems to sink
right to the bone.

Hoping you
are somewhere warm
and enjoying the last week
before Thanksgiving festivities
start to kick in.

Have a lovely weekend.   :)

  1. We had a lovely evening like that here tonight. The sunset was gorgeous and the lake was as smooth as glass reflecting it all. Then the full moon came up. It was 50 here today and will be 52 tomorrow and 60 with rain on Monday. I love it but it's not going to last. Hugs, Pam

  3. Lovely , mood filled photos . . . Time for us to put on a brave front to greet the cold winds and snowy days. Rosy cheeks will be the style . . .

  6. What a beautiful time of day....but it comes too soon in the day, I find.

I haven't donned MY seasonal thick skin yet either (actually wondering if it's going to develop at all)! Since we don't have a fireplace of our own, I'm claiming a nearby Cracker Barrel's!

  10. Full disclosure...I am still wearing flip-flops. I am not yet ready for the cold. It never bothers me but I am not ready to leave my gardens!
I found a lovely store in Crete, of all places. Like an oasis in the desert! We really, really need to get together before too long!
