Art:
so subjective,
so intimately personal
for each of us.

Everyone is drawn
to different images
for different reasons.
So when you hang
a piece of art in your home,
it's not usually by accident.
it's not usually by accident.
What
was
it
was
it
that first appealed to you
or caught your eye
with a certain piece?
with a certain piece?

George Stubbs, (1724-1806) an English painter
whose equine paintings are some of the very

Your posts are always so tasteful my friend. Thanks for the heads up for June 1st. I hope to make it this month.

Looking forward to the party. I love art and to see other peoples collections.
Alison,
I can hardly wait! I'm working on my post this weekend and will join you on the first.

Alison, your art is beautiful and perfectly suited for Polohouse. Our art is eclectic, some figural, some still life, some landscape, and some abstract. We buy what speaks to us. Sometimes we both agree, sometimes not. At any rate, we will compromise to accept or deny a piece if one of us has strong opinions.
See you on the 1st. ~ Sarah
Beautiful Alison. My husband and I nearly almost always agree...but every now and then I might love something that he isnt' sure about and then I bring it home, hang it up and I hate to say it but.....well, he admits I was right:)
Oh I love Stubbs! IU wish I had a few for my library, instead I have my daughters Equine Photography which is also dear to my heart!
Beautiful post as usual, I cant wait to join the art post!
Best,
Karolyn
All of your hunt scene art is so wonderfully English! Just like the one's I was used to growing up!!! LOVE the fox picture!!!
You are so right about art... although I have a hard time choosing just the right art for my rooms. Many people say it does not matter that the art plays nicely with a room...I think that is true if it is truly a piece of ART! But most of us cannot afford such luxuries. I think everyday art needs to work with a room or vice versa.
See you on the first!
Beautiful, beautiful art, Alison ... you have such fabulous taste! I especially love the sophisticated hunt scenes you have splashed around your gorgeous home. Always a treat to visit. Happy week!
Hi Alison! I will try to be involved in you June 1st event! I have a piece scheduled to post...hmmm!
Come with me on my adventure in France.
life, possibilities, grace
a beautiful dream...
