Separated at Birth? Hmmm. You decide.

In the first few months of starting this blog,

 a new blogging friend/follower, 

Becky 

at Sweet Cottage Dreams

(wonderful blog, please go visit!)

introduced me to her dear

friend, Waveney.

Becky
thought we should meet since we
"had a lot in common."

You may have seen her home

Glendogal Cottage

that was featured on 
my sweet and talented friend Jennifer 's fabulous blog,
The Painted Cottage,
or here 
when I posted a virtual tour 
of Waveney's home in 2011.

Though she does not have a blog,
 she has been gracious enough
to allow us to see her collections
and her lovely home in all of it's 
Old World charm and elegance.
So many layers. So many memories
of finding each and every special heirloom piece.

But let me get back
to the main topic of my post today.

I must share with you 

how humorous and uncanny I find it, 

that after I have posted simple blog story here
on my blog,

I can almost always count on 
receiving a private email with photos from

Waveney sharing with me 
something in her house

that she has 

that I have just posted on.

It happens so often, 

that I asked Wave 
if I could share with all of you, 

the parallel universes we seem to live in!

 Though she is in California

and I am in Illinois,
and we have never met
(other than phone calls and emails)

I can't help but wonder if we were 

separated at birth?

Kindred spirits, no doubt.

Just take a look at some of her shots

that come flying through cyberspace
and into my email box

from hers
to share with me our similar collections.

Last month, after I posted this photo
of my antique spool chest:

She sent me this one:

Which is sitting in her Great Hall 

You have seen this shot from 

the trophy case in our hallway.

...or my collection of walking canes in the entry hall area....

  She sent me this in return from her entry hall.

When I posted the kitchen shot 

of the hutch with the two Staffordshire lions

standing on the top shelves a while back...

... I had to smile when I realized

she not only collects Staffordshire

figures, but she has a lion in her hutch too.

These two came home in my suitcase from
a Parisian flea market.

We both love antique paisley shawl throws ...

This one is phothgraphed in Waveney's dining room.

I remember finding this old stained antique print 
in its original frame last summer at an estate sale.  
A Scottish hunter in his plaid kilt with his faithful dogs.  

Waveney sent me this in response
to my find.

when I moved here, we named him "Bob".

We both have two fox paintings.

One of the foxes that Waveney has painted!

And a second one here. Love it!

  Waveney even has a red plaid chair, above.
Her second dog is black, like my second dog Cada

but hers is a Scottish terrier and mine a labrador.

 So many similarities 
that we know of --
both in the same profession - 
designing interiors for a living. 
Who knew?

We will meet one day -- 
of this I am sure!

Just wanted to share this strange
tale of two girls 
in two cities
drawn to the same 
two (million)
things.
