Some of my most favorite pictures of my children
were taken in pumpkins patches in the fall.
I do love the white and green pumpkins,
but nothing says fall
like a large massive group
of orange pumpkins.
Do you grow pumpkins?
Do you buy your pumpkins from a farmer's patch?
Do you still carve your pumpkins?
Tell me,
I want to know!

We love pumpkins at Halloween time. My husband is a pumpkin carving artist. He makes amazing carvings. I'll have to do a post on it this year to show you. He's already looking forward to it! :)

I love pumpkins! I get them from local farms and display them everywhere.
Don't carve them anymore though.
Loved looking at the photos.
I've been painting pumpkins this year. I always have to have scarecrows, mums, and pumpkins in the fall!
Hi Alison, Great post. I usually buy pumpkins from a roadside stand that has been in our area for over 40 years. It is well known for it's size pumpkins, gourds and mums. Looking forward to heading out there this w/k to pick up the first pumpkins of the season. hugs ~lynne~
Grow? No! They are way too cheap for the orange ones close to Halloween at the grocery stores to go to all that trouble. I keep my eye out for the green and white ones at a good prices...I found some great ones at Walmart in a big bin one year. Thanks for sharing those wonderful photos.
I love orange pumpkins. I throw in white ones, too. Gourds are also a favorite. My kids are grown so I don't carve them anymore. I have to keep the real ones inside in this heat or they rot. Too hot even in Oct.! But can't wait to buy them...it's a happy moment for sure. : )
We have no room to grow them but I do love to carve them and display them everywhere!! Nothing says fall better. Now, if I could figure out a way to keep the squirrels away!!
Great pictures, Alison!
XO,
Jane
I enjoy seeing OTHER peoples' pumpkins! Since we don't grow them and because "frugal" is my middle name, I don't always have real pumpkins around. If the grandchildren are going to be around, I would splurge and have one for each of them to carve/decorate...
By the way: How do you mend a broken jack-o-lantern? With a pumpkin patch!
We have grown pumpkins, we buy them at the apple orchards, and I buy them at the grocery store when I need just a few more. I LOVE THEM!! especially the GHOST pumpkins. Which I haven't seen out yet this year.
I also love roasted salted pumpkin seeds fresh out of the oven.
I tried growing them this year but they kept rotting before they came of any size. So off to the farmers down the road to buy one. My dh loves to carve them.
We do buy them from the pumpkin patch, and this year I hope to find not only regular pumpkins, but white and green varieties as well. I LOVE pumpkins!
I love pumpkins and when I carve them I always carve happy faces. After we have enjoyed them for a while, I cut them open and let the squirrels have a feast.
Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
Beautiful photos of pumpkins! I pinned the first one of the turquoise truck. I hope you don't mind. I do buy a couple every year for the front deck. I should carve one for fun too.! I enjoyed the photos! Pamela
We usually buy our pumpkins whereever I see the best deal. Isn't that sad? I would prefer to buy them at a fun Fall festival with a giant pumpkin patch to stroll through but we don't usually do it that way. We do carve our pumpkins. We let our 10 yr old draw the face and then my husband carves it out. He usually chooses a scary face. One year my teenage son carved one and made it look like he was throwing up pumpkin guts out of it's mouth. It was so funny! Everyone commented on it. I'll have to dig that picture out and share it on my blog one day. Pumpkin season is upon us!!
Ms. Polo, I have always loved pumpkin patches. When I drive by one I can hardly not stop and drive in. I raised pumpkins and guards when I was a kid in school and I sold them at a stand in our front yard. So they are very near and dear. I am not in love with he white ones, I like the old orange ones. I love the big squrash and the bumpy ones are a favorite. i do not carve any more, but once did a lot of them. I just love them in the yard, on the porch and all around the kitchen. Nothing says fall like these wonderful gifts from above. Let's get picken. Richard from My Old Historic House.
Great pictures! I LOVE...
P U M P K I N S!!! Adore them!
We usually go to a Farm and get our pumpkins, such a great variety and selection. And, yes, we carve several every year and I clean, roast, and salt the pumpkin seeds to eat....YUM!!! I think the Cinderella Pumpkins are so cute, have you seen those?
So agree, most of my most favorite pics of my kids when they were younger (and being bribed to smile for the camera, haha) were taken at a pumpkin patch, something about that vibrant orange that makes for the most beautiful background!
I love these pictures and never tire of gorgeous fall inspiration!
Love this time of year and a good pumpkin patch. ;-)
Pumpkins are a sign of fall to me! Oh the images you have chosen are beautiful!
Pumpkins grew out of my compost bin this summer! They won't grow in the garden but love the compost!
Living out in the country, I see fields and field of gorgeous orange pumpkins!
I usually wait until Oct to put out the pumpkins.... but Oh, how you tempt me!!!!
Thanks for such a pretty and fun post!
Yvonne
Your pictures inspire me to get moving on the Fall dicorations. I'm going to go paint some pumpkins.
We live at the end of a lane behind a gate and get no trick-or-treaters. I miss that and have great memories of when my kids were little. I usually don't carve my pumpkins, but maybe I'll give it another try this year. If you don't hear from me for a bit, I'll probably be recovering with stitches!
I love decorating with pumpkins- they ARE autumn, but haven't carved any in a long time...Pretty inspiration photos!
Great Pinterest images, Alison. The first one is my very favorite! I can remember taking my girls to the Old Baker Farm's Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze! :D
*fun post*
Hi Alison,
I love to see bunches and bunches of pumpkins everywhere this time of year!
I do not carve them anymore; last year I painted them colorful stripes along the ridges.
This year I am going to get the white or cream variety for a change.
