Went to check something
out at the antique shop today
(for a fellow blogging friend),
and since I was taking pictures for her,
I thought I would take some pictures
of the store to share
with all of you as well!
"Anna's Mostly Mahogany"
is the name of the store
which is located about 30 miles north of Chicago
in the town of Highwood, Illinois.
But don't let the name fool you,
there is so much more
than just traditional furnishings here.
The store features 18 dealers,
(my friend and I share a space here)

a large art and consignment area,
and Anna's main section
specializing in both antiques and
specializing in both antiques and
high-end reproduction pieces
in a 6,000+ square foot showroom.
I photographed about one third of the store
and will take more pictures to share
later this week.

I know Anna well. She used to come to St.Louis and buy things from my shop, did it for years. She has been there a long time, and looks like she is very successful. If you see her again, tell her Richard and Mary Ann,my partner at the time, say hello. Richard from My Old Historic House.

Oh I'd love to spend hours in there! There are still some great antique shops left in Miami, but unfortunately they're becoming fewer. Might be time for a road trip! Patti
ReplyDeleteAlison, I'm so glad the shop isn't near me...:) with all those gorgeous pieces, I wouldn't have a penny left in my purse. I keep going back and drooling over each photo. Of course, I love the tartan blankets/throws. I try to keep my tartan "obsession" under control, but Fall brings it out again. Thanks for sharing photos of the shop.
