Patriotic Postcards

God Bless America!

I love the month of July
and especially July 4th and
have a small but growing collection
of patriotic postcards I have collected
through the last few years.

Take a look.
I get a kick out of some of
the politically incorrect sayings that
we wouldn't dare print nowadays!

Can you believe this one?

Oh my...how scandalous. Can you even imagine?

Don't you love the
amazing old graphics?

(Do you collect anything Independence Day related?)

In the background of some of the photos.... this old felt beanie...maybe from a parade one year?

Linking up with these fun July Fourth party gals this weekend!

  1. I LOVE your postcards! My sister and I used to collect very old holiday related postcards, too, but they became more and more expensive so we stopped with what we have. I'm inspired to take mine out and display them, maybe even posst a blog entry! Thanks for sharing the beautiful (sometimes unbelievable!) postcards in your collection.
    Have a safe Fourth!

  5. Hi Alison! I just love these vintage postcards! I've found lots of them online and copied a view to use around the house. I loved the artwork on these.
    Happy 4th!

  8. Alison, your collection of old poscards is great. I surely did gasp at a couple of those and even had to giggle a bit. :) I have a few old post cards but none related to the fourth.

For a while I was collecting the Presidential Longaberger baskets.

Thanks so much for your visit to my blog. I always love it when you stop by!

  11. Thanks for sharing those great cards! It really adds to my Fourth of July weekend. The one with the exploding firecracker/children/dog is wild.

  12. Do I collect anything Independence Day related?
I'm laughing out loud here, Alison. Yes, I'm definitely one who collects in this category. ;-)
Love seeing your post cards. I only have five, but would love to add more. I said I wasn't going to add anymore Uncle Sam figures, but found one at Goodwill that was too good to pass up. He's made my House of Hatten in 1993. So he is my star this 4th. I also added a new Lady Liberty this year.
    Happy 4th! ~ Sarah
