Independence Day at the Polohouse

July
is my most
favorite month of the year.
(I was born in July and I've always loved summer.)

But it seems,
the older I get,
the more sentimental I am
toward the symbolism of our
great flag
and everything it stands for.

 I love July fourth
and celebrating
our country's birthday
and rich history,
don't you?

What about you....
do you try to hide the fact
that you're proud
to be an American
like I do????

:)

(Shhhh.... my neighbors have no idea.)

A giant thank you
to the enlisted men and women
and those who gave their precious lives
for the peace and safety
of this great nation.

We celebrate you
and your courage this weekend.
We appreciate everything you have sacrificed
for your country and your countrymen.

Thank you from the bottom
of my red, white and blue heart.

May God bless you all.

  23. Alison, I'm so enjoying your wonderful display of flags and bunting and the post on vintage postcards. I love to look at old postcards not only for the graphics but the messages if they were mailed. I have quite a few old postcards from the early 1900s til now but unfortunately, most don't have patriotic themes. :( I have some my grandfather sent to my grand mother before they married in 1916. Those I treasure most.
You've inspired me to look for some patriotic ones to collect.
    Thanks for the great posts,
    Babs
