you might know
that one of the hats I wear
is an antique dealer.
My friend and I share a booth
at a local antique mall.
Well, spring is here and there are deals to be found!
I have a hard time selling what I find a LOT of the time.
(The only downfall of my job,
according to my dear husband.)
Here are some things I am currently struggling with....
I want to keep most of these things.
What do you think?

| Heavy carved 1" thick wooden frame..... $10! (This is 14" tall.... very large!) |

| Two pewter pitchers.... 6-8" tall. $20. and $22 each. |

| Ceramic top hat, a lidded box. Have never seen anything like it. |

| I can hide chocolates in here maybe? Or keys.... I guess. $28. |

| Cool vintage handmade roulette wheel kind of game. |
 |
| Little bird with beak ticks off the winning spin. $29 Anyone know what game this might have been? |

| Cutie patootie Steiff kitty without tags. $12...he "made" me buy him. :) |

There is still more stuff in the car I have yet to unpack!
Three days of shopping. Furniture too.
What should I keep?

You HAVE to keep the book-ends. They're made for your house! I think you should also keep the little alabaster lamp. So adorable! And the top hat would look good in your house also. I think you should sell that gorgeous carved frame to me! The other things are lovely and unique, but could probably be sold in your booth. For what it's worth, that's my opinion...
I would definitely keep the little alabaster lamp. It is adorable, and you can always find a small, dark corner for it :D

Love the top hat, Alison! That would be so great at the holidays with some greenery and berries ~ as if Frosty just happened to leave it there. : ) I know you weren't showing them, but I love your transferware pieces. Love how you put a little plant in the one cup and saucer.
Love all your goodies! I think you should keep that black lidded hat! You will NEVER see another one of those!

Save the lamps until I make it to your shop. Then sell them to me :) Where is your booth located? I'd love to visit next time I'm in the area!
Keep the urn in the first photo and the top hat.
I could never be a dealer...everything would stay in my home!! I love the brass bookends, they really fit The Polohouse!!
BTW, I took a look at our weather vane after one of your posts and it is a horse and carriage. Hubby found it at an antique store in Michigan.

It would be impossible for me to be an antique dealers, that's for sure.
You should keep everything except that heavy wooden frame.
P.S. Then you need to let us know where your antique place is located so that we can go and snatch up all the other stuff.

Alison, I'd love to be close enough to show your booth. Great finds! I think I'd have the same difficulty. I wouldn't want to sell any of these. That said, you have to keep the book ends. They are perfect for Polohouse.

Alison, If I had to choose... I'd keep the alabaster lamp, the brass bookends and the pewter pitchers... oh, and the frame.
You find the most perfect pieces and I wish you had a booth near Atlanta.

Well, that little lamp with the shade you had in storage is adorable! The shade just makes that one. This is precisely why I do not have a booth somewhere. I would never be able to part with anything!

Alison, I have the same problem with selling things. The good thing is you can keep some of these for a while and then sale them when you find something to replace it. I love the lamps and the top hat is really unique.

Oh, I have the same problem...I want to keep everything I should be taking to the shop also! I'm with Ricki Jill...I would keep the alabaster lamp...adorable!

I have many bookends and they do somtimes get lost and unappreciated on the sides of books....repurpose??? I have used some to prop tilted art prints or black and white etchings in a bookcase.

Keep it all! How can you get rid of such pretty treasures? lol Maybe just sell everything and go on another shopping spree.
I am the last person who should answer that question. I love antiques, I crave vintage and would have such a hard time parting with any of your treasures.

I have this same problem. My solution is to live with what you don't think you can sell for awhile, then I later can let them go. It works most of the time. LOL!

That turkey plate in my kitchen hutch is unmarked. Not sure where it came from but I do know I bought it on Etsy two Thanksgivings ago!
