Birch Decor

Birchwood logs
are so pretty in the winter.
Their papery white bark
is gorgeous in contrast to green pines.

It was fun finding
photos for this post
of birch used in
holiday decor.

  7. Like Ron, we have birch logs in our non-functioning fireplace....I also have one that has holes drilled in it to hold candles which I use as a centerpiece.

  10. So glad you posted about this! I love birch logs and would love to keep some in my fireplace basket. But, where does one find them??

  11. The birch candles from PB are gorgeous, but I'm sure very expensive. We keep birch logs in our fireplace during the summer for decor only...no one dares to burn them!! :)

  14. Allison -
I love birch all year around. I mix it with so many things. Last week I found a remnant of a birch-patterned fabric. Soooo wonderful. Unfortunately, there is no printing on the salvage and I can't find the manufacturer, because I would love to have lots and lots and lots of it.
    Happy Thanksgiving.

  18. GORGEOUS images Alison! The white birch is my favorite tree! We had one in our front yard and then last year it was killed by birch bores. They're a bug that infests the tree and kills them. I was so sad when the hubs had to cut it down!

  21. Alison,
I love the birch bark. I don't have any currently in my Christmas decorations but may have to rethink that now that I've seen these great displays.

  24. Thank you for the birch decor. We are birch lovers. We once lived up in the Adirondacks in upstate NY where birch and pine are prevalent. I have a few logs of birch that has traveled with us from home to home over the years. I too will add a few of the logs in a planter and put it on the front porch. Thanks for the idea! Amy
