Lake Champlain shoreline.

Two weekends ago, my mother and I

went to Burlington,Vermont 

to visit my daughter at college.

Have you been to the area?

(It takes your breath away.... stunning.)

While there I took my mother to see

Shelburne Farm 

-- a stunning 1,400 acre

historic farm built in 1886 

by Dr. William Seward and his wife, 

Lila Vanderbuilt Web.

Their original farm was created as a model

agricultural estate sitting on 3,800 acres 

along the shoreline of 

Lake Champlain, Vermont.

Frederick Law Olmstead Sr. was the landscape architect 

for the grounds and Robert H. Robertson was the architect 

of the residence and four major barns.

The estate is now a non-profit working farm 

that provides conservation education 

to students and the community in

which it resides. In 2001 it became 

a National Historic Landmark ... and rightly so!

The property has a main estate house

(now an inn where you can stay) 

and several barns --- the main one ---

my favorite, I know, shocking right?

 :)

These photos do not do it justice.

It is simply breath-taking  ---

with the shoreline of Lake Champlain,

the Green Mountains of Vermont,

and the Adirondack mountains across the lake

all add up to make this place 

simply heavenly!

UPDATE on the 
FEEDBURNER ISSUES 

A couple posts ago I commented on my
frustrations with Blogger's Feedburner
and that it was not delivering emailed posts
to my subscribers. Well, I am happy to say that
the problem was resolved!

Apparently, Feedburner was abandoned by Blogger
and thank goodness, a fellow blogger out there
shared this with her readers which I happened to stumble
upon through a web search. Thank you, Jane Friedman wherever you are!  Here is the link to her post in case it helps you as well. LINK

I decided to upload BlogLovin' and they picked up the slack
and automatically resumed the email list my blog had and
they are now sending the emailed posts to my subscribers.
