I think I could like this style if I lived in a climate that was warm all year around. It sort of reminds me of my grammie's house which was full of antiques and finds from other lands including a leopard and lion skin with heads on the living room floor! We kids were always fascinated with them and the tortoise shell in the library. The true colonial style with white walls and dark woods seems to fit a southern clime and temperature which I would love. The images are beautiful. I hope you are staying cool during this hot spell, Alison. Have a lovely weekend.

I like it and love looking at it but don't think I would want to live with it on a permanent basis. To me it just doesn't tie in with a Midwest life style- xo Diana

I'm a fan! Love to add pieces of bamboo furniture to our home. Our first bedroom furniture was campaign style. We gave up that set when we moved to this home because it would work in our new space. Regret that we didn't keep the bachelor's chest. ;-(
Thanks for sharing the images.

I love it!!! Probably why I have always loved Dan Marty's house and
much of Barclay Butera's work. I love
bits of bamboo whether its blinds or furniture when it has a tortoise shell look. It is a classic look warm and inviting. Very interesting post great images. Are you familiar
with the Australian designer Stuart
Membery? He has several pieces in his furniture line that would qualify as British Colonial.

I do like elements of B.C., especially bamboo pieces. My favorite look is that of your last few pieces...more light and bright. Thanks for sharing such lovely photos, Alison.
