Take your feet off that table, young lady!

My mom always used
to scold us if we tried to put our
feet up on the coffee tables
in our house.
Same at yours?

So I  felt kind of guilty
when I decided
to put these riding boots
 as accessories
on my living room
coffee table one day.

But then I found this neat
 round iron and marble tray
on sale at Pottery Barn
so technically, the boots
are not
really
on the table, right?!

Have you ever put anything
on display that isn't
an accessory
by
traditional means?

Sorry, Mom!   :)

boot-iful. :) I'd love to have them on my coffee table. The loving cup and preserved boxwood with them, really make a great vignette. Hugs and stay warm,

  18. What a gorgeous vignette. I love your equestrian style. Do you mind sharing where you got your boot inserts. I have a pair of riding boots on the hall tree in our foyer, but they won't stand up nicely.

    1. Dear D,

I found the boots with the inserts at a local antique shop. I just tried to find the company who made them, but it appears they are no longer in business. The name of the company was Faulkner & Sons of London.

There are some boots with there inserts coming up for auction soon. Check out this link for more information:

      Hope that helps!

  26. Those cute boots could walk all around the room forming a variety of vignettes. Near the front door with a cane and/or riding crop. Near a window with flowers jutting from them. Or maybe with candles! Displayed next to a rocking horse...so many ideas.

  31. Alison, these look awesome. I have come to think of you every time I see something equestrian. I currently have a set of shoe stretchers on my coffee table in the den.
My most memorial chide from my mom was "That's not ladylike". I like to think it worked.
    Blessings, Ginger
