My blogging corner

Where do you blog?

Do you blog from your desk?
Maybe at your kitchen table?
Perhaps on your porch?

Detail of one of the 1898 English hunt club prints above the mantle.

I have a laptop
so I blog pretty much anywhere
that I can get a signal.

But for the most part,
I blog in the warming room
in a quiet corner
near the fireplace.

Where is your favorite
place to blog?

Are you a late-nighter
or an early-morning blogger?

(I guess what I am asking is ...
do you blog with wine or coffee?)

;)

Hallie says thanks for stopping by!

  1. Alison, it's fun to see more of the Polohouse. The new lamp is fabulous and perfect for the Polohouse. You have exquisite taste. I think it would be wonderful to live in this charming structure so I always appreciate your posts that take us inside. ~ Sarah

  2. Love your pooch. I have a laptop too and blog all over the house...except my bedroom. I decided to draw the line there! My favorite place to sit is my back porch but it's been too hot to sit out there. Looking forward to cooler temps again. Have a great weekend!

  3. Your area is so cozy and charming...I would love blogging there! I tend to do most of my blogging late at night!

  4. Such an inviting place you have in which to blog!

I blog (primarily) in the morning...so it's coffee for me. I sit in my Lane ladies' recliner with my feet up...the round side table holds my cuppa.

  5. Hi Alison, you certainly have a beautiful and comfortable place to do your blogging. I blog early morning or late at night (it's 10:45 pm) without coffee or wine. I use 'the office' which is really hubby's but I've taken over his PC pretty well when he's not at home (and when he is). He has another computer to use. The office is in the basement but there is a large window with a nice view of the backyard. The only thing is I tend to run up and down stairs alot to do chores, laundry etc. I guess I get some exercise that way :-) Enjoy the weekend!

  6. Love this room and everything in it. Now just make your pictures bigger like the last one and all will be good. I use my laptop mostly in the sun room for blogging.

I usually blog standing at the laptop, surrounded by quadrupeds!

  12. Hey Alison, I like to blog in our office these days but sometimes it's on one of our two laptops. I've taken to the patio lately since it's been divine weather here in IL. :)

Your corner is definitely special. Thanks for sharing.

  13. Hi Alison! I love your blogging spot ~ it looks very comfy. I have a laptop, too, and depending on how much time I've got, I either blog on the couch in our den or at my desk in the living room. I'm usually on the couch in the morning with a cup of coffee at my elbow.

  14. Your home is so lovely, and I always love seeing more of it. Your blogging corner of your warming room looks so warm and inviting. What a terrific place to curl up with your laptop.

I blog in our office, because none of our laptops have photo-editing software installed. I really have to figure out where the discs are, so that I can start blogging from my favorite corner of the house. Beautiful pics, as always. Thanks for sharing.

  18. Your blogging room looks so cozy. I blog at my desk in the office I share with Mr LR. I have a laptop but I preferred a larger screen so out we went and purchased a new monitor with wireless keyboard.

  19. HI Alison! Oh how I love this room! It is so beautful and I love that lampshade and the prints! Perfect for this room of your wonderful house! I blog here at my computer desk in our one guest room that is also referred to as my "office".! HA! This table is 3 feet wide and CRAMPED (and right now messy). I would love a real desk and room to have the things I love on it or nearby. Have a great weekend. XO, Pinky

  21. I blog from my desk at the antique shop. I do not have a computer at home or I would never get any thing done. I think I spend way to much time doing my blogging, but, makes me happy. So keep on Blogen. Thanks, Richard from My Old Historic House.

  24. You have a beautiful space to blog in! I have a laptop, so I could technically blog from anywhere, but I prefer to blog in a tiny room in our house that looks out over the pasture. We converted it into an office, but I believe it used to be a sitting room off of a bedroom. It's the perfect place though because I get to watch the sunrise...I'm definitely a morning blogger! :o)

  25. That would be coffee for me. I'm definitely a morning person. Did you know you started your blog on my birthday? Well, of course you didn't!

  26. That is a charming and cozy spot. I just posted with a ten pound cat in my lap competing with the laptop! My laptop has to be blow dried to get the cat hair off! I blog where ever I am. Old house or yellow house, deck or kitchen it does not matter. The cat is the only constant factor.

  27. I love your home!

I write my blogs in the library where our desktop computer resides because all my photos are in that computer. But I do most of my comments from the laptop in the family room. Almost all my blogging is in the evening, with a glass of wine. So, if I ever leave a comment that seems a tad disjointed, you'll know I had a rough day at work and indulged in a bit too much wine. :)

  28. Hi Alison,
Love your room from which you blog. I have a laptop and I blog while sitting in my chair in the den. The TV is usually on but I never watch it. Thanks for visiting our blog. If you try the chutney recipe, let me know how it turns out. Jane

  31. Alison, It's so much fun to see your home and the great way you've decorated it.
I'm amazed at your equestrian pieces and wonder where on earth you find them. Great pieces!Love the trophies/loving cups.
I usually blog in the afternoon.. is that too early for a glass of wine?
And in the office where the desk top computer is. I like that because the screen is larger than my laptop. When I visit and make comments, I'm usually in the family room with the laptop. So I'm a wine blogger...mostly.lol
Give Hallie a pat for me.
    Hugs,
    Babs

  32. love the peeks at where you blog!

i usually blog in bed in my INTERNEST: the nest of a big fluffy duvet and pillows i make in my bed. i usually blog in the evening but i read blogs mid morning.

more often than not, it's diet coke keeping me company. and chocolate. or something incredible i've baked.

i always find it funny when i read a version of "...but you know blogging takes a lot of time and is a lot of work..."

    not the case for me.

it's the easiest thing i've ever done and the furthest thing from 'work' i know.

    hugs.

Oh and thank you for the tip about fruit flies... they are horrible, and I am gonna try out your recepie!
