Holiday Tartan & Tortoiseshell

Tortoiseshell & Tartan

Time got ahead of me this year
and I did not get to put out
all my usual decorations this year.

I did take a few pics of the living room to share.

Nothing
says Christmas
like
Royal Stewart Dress Tartan.

That's the great thing about having
a neutral room.
You can throw in some
holiday pillows, flowers, and some
accessories and the room
has instant holiday pizzazz.

Hope you are enjoying these
quiet days that follow the
holiday rush.

xoxoxo~
Alison :)

  1. I also ran out of time and did not get all my decorations out. Never got the dining room done at all, oh well my brother did not come as usual on Christmas day for dinner. So now I am happy I do not have to put it all away!
Your living room is beautiful and with all the red it feels very festive.
    Happy New Year!

  3. So festive! Love the unpredictable mix of tartan and tortoise- and a spot of leopard- all so beautifully done- it doesn't look like you ran out of time at all!
    Cheers and Happy 2015!

  4. Alison,
I love it! I think it will look fabulous the rest of winter and other than the tree, you don't have to take down much. So pretty.

  7. Oh Alison, your tartan and HORSE theme is so lovely! How I could have a summer home nestled somewhere in the woods of New England with a horse ranch...oh yes, that's me! My husband gave me an antique wooden horse; I am reminded of him as I see your beauty here!

Thank you for coming to visit tonight. Blessings back atcha! Anita

  11. Your home always looks beautiful! I didn't have time to do a holiday house tour post yet. Yeah, now that the tree is getting dried out and dropping needles I will end up taking pictures...lol. Well, actually I did take a few pictures but I haven't had a chance to load them on my computer yet. Oh well. I love all your red and plaid. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and I look forward to reading your blog in the new year. Best wishes for 2015! Cheers! - Shelley

  16. Tartan and tortoise makes my heart sing, Alison. Your living room looks festive, warm, and welcoming, and your collection of boxes is stellar. Your style inspires me!
Who makes the tortoise plates and napkin rings? They are lovely, and I've not seen them before.
Taking down the tree today. Makes me a tad sad to see it all packed up in plastic tubs. Hope you enjoy your tree a bit longer.
Happy New Year to you and your family.
