Yesterday
my friend and I attended a
vintage/antique sale
at the home of my sweet
and super talented friend, Carol,
who has a fantastic blog called
(One of these days I want to take
a camera to her home and interview her
with a photo tour of her fantastic home --
styled with drool-worthy vignettes
that you would die to see!)
I will work on that.
She hosts this event
a couple times a year ---
and it is AMAZING!
Never know what you will find.
We bought so many great things!
But I had to share
my favorite find
of the day:
an antique apple picking canvas bag.
Brought it home
and stuffed it full of all the
green hydrangeas
in the yard.
The bottom unhooks to release the apples when full. A sturdy iron frame allows it to hold its form. |
Love this thing!
Wish I could find more
to fill for family and friends.
Let me know if you know where I can find more! :) |
Kind of cute, right?
:)
What an interesting find. LUV it stuffed full of green Hydrangeas. They are my favourite flower.
ReplyDeleteYes! I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's great! You can use that any time of the year. The flowers are gorgeous in it.
ReplyDeleteRight! (And I'll wait eagerly for a peek at your friend's house. If you say it is "fantastic", I know it is!)
ReplyDeleteI love your apple picking basket. It's the kind I used to use when I picked apples for pay in the 70's. I have one here that is similar to yours. I like your basket of green hydrangea blossoms. It's really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAlison what a fun and cute find! The hydrangeas are perfect in it!

I've never seen one of these, but how cute with the hydrangea. Even the details of the buckle are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find.
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend.

Great find. It looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteVerrrrrry awesome! Hey, my last post had old crocks and green hydrangeas in it, too. lol. Your home is always so lovely, Allison!
ReplyDeleteAlison, it is a terrific find! I love that you can fill it with hydrangeas from your garden. Seeing your crocks on your hutch makes me smile. I just returned from my trip to France and brought home a fun French crock that I'd not seen before. There were many from which to choose, but limited my purchase to one this time. '-) Will share it and photos of others soon.

Darling! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen anything like this...very cute!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I have one as well, but it is metal on the sides and canvas on the bottom. It's in much rougher shape than yours. I found it in my Grandma's basement-she likely got it at a garage sale. I fill mine with greens at Christmas time, and place it on my front porch. I love your idea, though. I'd like to display mine year round. I always get so many comments about it from visitors :) ps are you on Instagram? I could tag you in a picture of it so you could see it
ReplyDeleteHi! Just came across you through Pinterest and absolutely LOVE your new find! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the bag, Alison! So pretty filled with hydrangeas.

Holy moly I love that apple picking bag! I have never seen one. Looks gorgeous with the hydrangeas - would look great in the fall filled half way with filler and then topped off with real apples.
ReplyDeleteNow I am on the hunt! Thanks for sharing.
