Door Knockers

When you come to our front door
this is the
door knocker
that will greet you!

We added it since there is not
a door bell here.
(That's crazy, I know.)

For our side door
I found the door knocker below.

Love the combination of the horse shoe and the golden key.

There are so many great options
out there should you choose
to add one to your front door.

Let's take a look, shall we?

So many lion's head door knockers to choose from but many
are very fierce and evil looking. This one is relatively tame,  Link

DOOR KNOCKER: Hand knocker...its kind of creepy...but I like it
Pinterest

So when a friend
comes knocking at your door
what is the first thing
that they see?

Your smiling face, right!?!

  3. Alison... so funny that you did a post on door knockers. I have been looking at them on line til I have become cross eyed!! We are getting new hardware for all our doors so I have to make up my mind soon. LOVE the cat and mouse. Haven't seen that one. What a riot! The Mister would never go along with it tho. Have a great week!!

  4. Alison, I was so attached to the door knocker at our first home, I wanted to take it with us even though we couldn't use a door knocker on our door here. The hand door knockers have always fascinated me. They are very common in Paris and also in Mexico and Guatemala. My favorites of the ones you showed are the two at Polohouse. Great post!

  7. Alison,
There are so many door knockers in this post that I would love to have. We have a dutch door so the top half has panes and glass, no place for a door knocker, but after seeing this post I wish there was a spot for one.

  9. Great collection! I think the crab would look nice in our area. Love the cat with the mouse. I can't decide if it is my favorite or the hand with the orb. They are all beautiful!
    Have a blessed week, Ginger

  11. My knocker is usually covered up by a wreath. But if I had a cool one like these I might not cover it up. I really like the one with the leaves and acorns - I'm partial to leaves. By the way, did you know that you can INSTALL a doorbell? :) Or in my case, repair the one that is there that doesn't work.
