A couple years ago
I got this moss-covered angel
topiary form for Christmas.
I had seen her at a
local nursery gift shop,
and she stole my heart.
"Holly"
has graced our holiday dining room
table in past years,
and various other spots,
but my most favorite spot for
her is outside
our kitchen patio doors
on the table.
(She stands about 3 feet tall or more.)
We got some light snow
this week which makes her look
even cuter, right?
She stands on a burlap runner and on the runner - fresh cranberries and birdseed. All under a blanket of snow now. |
(Side note: I have to smile every time
I type or write the word "angel" ---
I am reminded of a story my mother
has told me from her childhood
about a young admirer
who wrote her a love note and it started it off:
"To My Dear Angle Patricia...." )
I think of that every single time I write the word now!!! LOL
How about you?
Any snow in your part of the world?
P.S.
I know I have barely posted this month.
And honestly, it has been killing me!
I love to decorate for the holidays
and my house is decorated more than ever,
but as you know, I am unable to share anything
comes out next November.
It has been so hard for me not to post
on the preparations.
But, I just have to wait
until next Christmas
and then.... it will be revealed.
:)
Happy New Year, friends! |
Oh, I love her! She just stole my heart too!
ReplyDeleteThat is just a precious story and angel. I wondered where you where. hugs, Olive

Hi Alison. I was wondering why you weren't blogging about your Christmas decorating, which I know is fabulous. I guess I missed the post where you told about being in the Midwest Living Magazine. I think that is awesome! I love the snow on your topiary angel and garden. It's very pretty. We are expecting more snow tonight on top of 2 very big snow storms in one week. It's crazy! It's also winter! Blessings to you for a wonderful New Year. I guess we'll have to wait until next November to see your home decorated for the holidays.
ReplyDeleteShe is adorable. No snow here, that would really be a miracle! But rain, which we always welcome.
ReplyDeleteYour angel is adorable especially with her snow frosting.
Happy New Year!
Your angel is adorable! I miss the snow, we do not get much snow here, mostly not any at all.
ReplyDeleteSo so pretty... your snow covered angel(or angle)! It's snowing here and everything looks so soft and clean! Alison, I have really missed your posts!!! Will look forward to a 2013 full of good things from The Polohouse!
ReplyDeleteAlison, your angel is wonderful! Snow just enhances everything! Ironically, we got snow on Christmas day for the first time in many, many years! It was so perfect to be able to see a snowy scene, while enjoying our Christmas dinner! Can't wait to see your magazine spread! Wishing you and your family a Very Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteAlison, it's oh so difficult for me to wait till November to see what you've done. I know it is gorgeous. Fortunately a friend gifted me a subscription to Midwest Living. It starts after the first of the year. Love your snow angel. Happy New Year, sweet friend.....S
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful topiary! The string of berries is the perfect accessory for her. How exciting to have your home featured in next years holiday magazine:)
ReplyDeleteWishing you a happy and healthy New Year ahead!
Love your angel. We woke up to a couple of inches of snow today. First measurable snowfall of the season. Looking forward to next November :)
ReplyDeleteIt has been killing me, you not posting!!! I will SO look forward to next year when we can all see it! I LOVE this angel and thought maybe you had found her at a garden center. We got snow today, about 2 inches I think and it is over now. XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteMidwest Living, how fabulous is that. I can't wait to see everything. I love your snow angel, so perfect. I hope you have a very Happy New Year. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI am missing the fab photos of your home. It is actually cold here in South Louisiana but no snow. I love your angel covered in snow. Snow makes winter photos so beautiful. xo
ReplyDeleteALISON!!!! I LOVE THAT ANGEL! And the snow gives even more magic to an already lovely garden space. Don't you just love that even in the winter, our gardens can become alive?
ReplyDeleteCONGRATES ON THE MAY ISSUE OF THE MAGAZINE! What fun. Thank you kindly for visiting tonight! May 2013 bring you many joys my dear! Anita
Your angle is so beautiful and even more so with the snow on top! I love the sweet story about the little love note written to your mom! Counting down the days until November....:)
ReplyDelete*** This "makes my day", Alison, & truly LIT up my FACE!!! ****
ReplyDelete~~~It sooooo reminds me of a dear friend's child's Christmas play soooo mannny years ago in Germany, where the lil'girl was seated in just about that exact/same position.... She had absolutely beautiful, long, angelically soft red hair... and she most surprisingly LOOKED JUST LIKE a little angel from heaven!
...And that's just ONE of the many, heartwarming reasons why "I BELIEVE!"....
Hugs for happy holidays, m' friend!
