Fall Colors

Is it just me,
or are you finding yourself
noticing and appreciating
all the fall colors
this year
more than ever?

The local weathermen
were reporting that our colors
would not be as vibrant this year
due to the lack of rain
this summer.

I have not noticed any
lack of color around here!

This is what the yard
is looking like this week.

I love the fall.
How about you?

Hallie thinks we have some raking to do this weekend!

  4. I am wondering if the drought helped the color? or the rain we had just before they turned..whatever! The trees are gorgeous this year in the Central part of the state too.
Your jockey looks good surrounded in the mums.

  5. What I wouldn't give to have mature trees in my yard! Frankly, one cannot tell what season it is by looking out the window here! LOL!

    Hoping you are well...

  7. Yes, our colours are really beautiful this year and lasting a long time. (check out my post tonight). I like the photo of your dog looking out the door. We're getting rain here again this weekend but at least we had 3 days of sunshine. Enjoy the weekend. Pamela

  8. Thank you for sharing your fall colors. So beautiful Alison. Here in California, we don't get as much color and I remembered growing up in Oregon. The Japanese maples are starting to turn, but it's not a real "show!"

  9. It has been an absolutely glorious fall!! I wish it would hold on a bit longer. The hard freeze, the winds, and the rains brought down a lot of the color. But, there's still plenty around to enjoy. And I'm doing my best to do just that!
Lovely photos! Thanks for the color tour!

  16. Not a lot of fall color in the trees here in TX, but there is plenty in the garden ~ rusty orange mums, purple asters, fiery red blood lilies. Chip is looking pretty comfortable. I think he is happy at the Polohouse!

  17. Hello, I just came over from the Old Painted Cottage. I toured your beautiful home.
I love the traditional look of your home. So many are decorating with the white French flair.
Your home holds a special interest in my heart. I grew up in horse country. The Kentucky Bluegrass State.
Horses have been a huge part of my life.
I love that you decorated your home with an Equestrian theme.

  20. Well, the colors may not be as 'vibrant' as in other years, but perhaps after the season of drought and unbearable heat, we are just so much more ready for Fall this year. So, I don't care if the colors are a 'litle' less colorful........it is pure beauty to me.

  21. Alison,
Our neighborhood has liquid amber trees that provide us some showy fall color, but most of the trees haven't turned yet. They need some cool nights to do their thing...hopefully it will cool enough for the colors to pop within the next couple of weeks. Your mums and leaves are beautiful.
