Well, they say...

gives you lemons

But let me tell you ...

what they 

should have said

was make

LEMONADE CAKE

you have probably seen

the photos taken

of this lemonade cake

pinned over and over

and over again.

It sounded good to me too

so I pinned it

months ago but remembered

to try it this weekend

when the temps got very

warm here.

OH MY!

 

It's not chocolate,

but it is the BEST

non-chocolate cake

I have ever eaten!

Eight rave reviews 

and almost gone

less than 24 hours later.

That's unusual here!

I am not a baker.

I made this in two 9" cake

layer pans and followed the

instructions. I grated four

whole lemons with my zester tool

and used all of it in the icing and

the cake mixture so it had that tart

extra fresh lemony goodness. Oh, and one 

other thing, I did get a standing

 mixer this year and maybe 

that's why it turned out

so well?  I'm just saying,

if I can make it, anyone can!!!
