There's a whole lot of white
outside our windows....
and more to come later tonight.
Cannot believe we did not get
any snow until mid-January!
Unusual for Illinois.
We always leave our lights up
through the end of the month.
January always brings a lot of snow
and the lights
are so welcoming at the front door.
Love how the lights illuminate all of the whiteness!
May have to go outside with the kids tomorrow and make one of these! (Pinterest) |
it's here ... falling like rain in the nw burbs

Yep, we sure are getting it today! It's pretty though I have to say. Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteWe're getting it here, too (what's left of yours, I guess)!
ReplyDeleteThe picture of the outdoor lights is so beautiful - and the upside-down snowman is the most clever thing I've seen in a long time!
Enjoy the snow this weekend! The snowman is so funny...I know you can do that! I love your lights! ♥
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. I love the white lights in the snow too. We had snow all day - light and fluffy - leaving about 4 inches. Happy Weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe front of the house looks so pretty with the lights and snow. You have been fortunate not to have had any snow till now.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun day planned to make that adorable snowman.
We are suppose to get some snow overnight too Alison! I can't wait! We haven't had any since that weird one right before Halloween. I love how pretty the lights look when it snows, your right it is so welcoming! Enjoy your weekend:)
ReplyDeleteIt does look pretty, Alison! We have seen a few snow showers here but nothing major. They are talking about some icy conditions overnight tonight though, which I'm hoping doesn't happen.
ReplyDeleteYou're so lucky! I love snow. All we got was rain today. Your home looks so pretty all lit up at night in the snow. That upside down snowman is adorable. Who would've thought to do that?!
ReplyDeleteI am loving the snow but it's really not snowman snow. :( However, we froze our appendages off tobogganing! How fun to warm them around a cup of hot cocoa?

Hi Alison!
ReplyDeleteWe are due to get that snow late tonight into tomorrow and I would love for the kids to make one of those upsidedown snowmen! Have a great weekend!

You got tons more snow than we did here in central Ohio. But the second storm is bringing us ice right now. Nothing worse than ice and Scott's is in town this weekend. Hope it isn't too bad in the morning.

Beautiful pictures Alison. Looks so peaceful. Have always loved the look of Christmas lights under snow. We didn't get to see that so thanks for keep your lights up for this snowfall. (BTW, beautiful entryway)
ReplyDeleteIt sure is peaceful and beautiful... Enjoyi t!

Isn't it crazy that we haven't had that much snow yet? It's beautiful here. Glad tomorrow is Saturday...enjoy.
ReplyDeleteLooks like winter. It was 80 here today. I'm not wishing for snow, but cooler temps would be nice. Love the snowman on his head. Cute! ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteHello! Yes we got rocked and socked today with the snow just south of Chicago. I say BRING IT! Love the snow and yes I also leave my lights up through the spring because I love snow covered twinkle lights. Enjoy - beautiful post!
ReplyDeleteAlison, the birdhouse image is so charming. I want snow just once. hugs, olive
ReplyDeleteLucky you! Enjoy the snow!
ReplyDeleteLove the upside snowman. If you make one, I hope you'll share a photo with us!
We have the ice down here, Alison. Ugh! I love the lights and the snow. I leave two potted evergreens lit on my porch. I like to see the glow from them :)
ReplyDeleteYep, what a gorgeous snow it is, too! Couldn't resist a long walk with the pooch yesterday through all the fluffy whiteness.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it beautiful? So happy to have a bit of snow around. Our lights are down, but the door wreaths are still up. Liz
ReplyDeleteNorthern Illinois = snow
ReplyDeleteSouthern Illinois = ice
Had trouble getting out to the car last night!
Your home looks wonderful with the lights and snow. No snow here, just rain and tornado watches. whoopee!
ReplyDeleteWe don't get much snow in GA, but do get ice storms in Jan. Thankfully, none so far...only tornado watches because of the warm weather the last few days.
Have fun playing in the snow. :)

I hate spring snow. If we haven't got it by now just skip it!
