Found this old galvanized
olive picking basket
from one of my favorite antique
dealers last month.
Have you ever seen anything like it?
Not sure if it is from our country
or could it be an import?
Let me know if you know something about it!

What a great bucket. I havn't ever seen one before. Love the basketweave pattern and the patina is wonderful. It is perfect with the logs, pinecones and lights. Great find. Hugs, Marty

ReplyDeleteLove that bucket. That is an olive bucket. It is used to collect olives when they pick them from the trees in Italy. At least, that is what I read somewhere. Love how you used it!

ReplyDeleteYou might be right, but I would say it is a minnow bucket for fishing. This would be placed in the shallow water for the bait to stay alive till needed.Richard from My Old Historic House.

I saw several of these, and I'm still kicking myself for not getting one. I have vintage graters that look like miniature versions of this. I put candles in them.

This looks great. Who would have thought just taking a few simple items and putting them together could look so pretty. You have it! That's all I can say. Seeing your decorations in the previous post...oh my.....stunning. I also love that staircase, but I loved it without the Christmas decorations too. I'm telling you, you have to pin it, and I'll repin :)
