Come along on a drive in the country

I spent Friday night
at my friend Jeannie's
after the Na Da Farm event
and then drove home early
on Saturday morning.

Jeannie lives west
of my home in Illinois
in a gorgeous farmland setting.
I drove home slowly taking it all in,
and smiling a lot.

Many of the leaves are changing.
But others are still holding their green.

Here are some pics I took to share.

Sweet little country church directly across the street from the barn above.

God is good. :-)
Thanks for riding along with me!

  1. So pretty Alison. There is nothing like a good ole country drive. I have always lived in the country, and wouldn't want it any other way. I would love an old barn on our property, tho. I keep telling hubby this, and I still don't have one????

  3. Alison,
So lovely. I loved every minute of being on the farm with my grandparents. I was there almost every weekend growing up. Wonderful memories!

  6. Love the paint horse especially
:-) - Now and then I long for a more convenient life, but giving up country living would be too high a price to pay.

  8. Pretty! I would love to give it all up to live in the country. No more annoying neighbors and booming bass from car stereos.

  17. Hi Alison- Your weekend at Nada Farm sounded so wonderful. Another event I wish I could have gone to. Last week I took my mom out for an afternoon drive in the country to see the fall colors and I was just loving every turn and bend in the road, seeing what was coming next. So peaceful. Your photos are beautiful.

  20. Lovely photo's and great that you stopped to "smell the roses" on your way home. Most of us spend far too much time rushing from A to B and don't appreciate the beauty around us. x Sharon
